Kanye has gained 50,000 votes (Picture: Getty/Twitter) Kanye West has already won 50,000 votes in the US presidential election. The rapper ran as an independent in Tuesday’s presidential election, with Democratic candidate Joe Biden currently battling incumbent President Donald Trump to get to 270 electoral college votes. Kanye voted for himself – the first time he voted in a presidential election – as a write-in candidate, as he failed to qualify for the Wyoming ballot, and many may be rather surprised that the Power star managed to achieve 50,000 votes across the country as of 4.30am. However, the 43-year-old hasn’t made much of a dent in any of the states he was on the ballot for. As of 4.30am, the star’s biggest win came in Tennessee, where he won nearly 10,000 votes, or 0.3% of the vote. Kanye beat candidates from the Constitution Party, the Green Party and the Socialism and Liberation Party, but was 19,000 votes behind his next competitor, Jo Jorgensen from the Libertarian Party. Kanye voted for himself (Picture: Twitter) Trump won Tennessee with 1,794,077 votes, or 61.1% of the votes. Most of the states where Kanye picked up votes were won by Trump, with the rapper so far getting 3,461 in Arkansas, 592 in Idaho, 6,110 in Kentucky, 3,818 in Louisiana, 1,875 in Mississippi, 5,265 in Oklahoma and 3,722 in Utah. However, he also won 1,852 in Iowa, 5,455 in Colardo and 1,154 in Vermont, all of which have been called for Biden. He failed to qualify for the ballots for other states. While there is still a whole lot of counting left to happen, it isn’t looking good for Kanye’s White House dreams, with a video of the father-of-four watching Fox News circulating on social media. The video sees Kanye sitting at a table on his own and tapping his leg while watching Fox News’s election coverage on the big screen. The leg tapping.. Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian confirmed that she had voted on social media; however, the 40-year-old did not reveal whether she voted for her husband. The reality star did, however, like a tweet from Kid Cudi which showed his support for Joe Biden. In 2016, Kim voted for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Kanye’s campaign was launched earlier this year and was instantly controversial, after the star sobbed during his launch appearance and claimed that Kim had considered an abortion when pregnant with her eldest daughter North. The Grammy Award winner relocated to a ranch in Wyoming for the bulk of his campaign, while Kim and their four children remained in Calabasas, California, and concerned fans with erratic tweets about his relationship with Kim and her mother Kris Jenner. Kim later spoke out on Kanye’s mental health, confirming he was in the middle of a bipolar episode.
