John Cleese shocked some fans with his joke about Donald Trump (Picture: Getty Images) John Cleese has tweeted a controversial joke about Donald Trump and suicide amid the US election. The Monty Python star voiced his disapproval of the US president amid the US election, with the star predicting that he will not concede if he loses to Joe Biden. However, he also went on to claim: ‘White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has Covid 19 And they tried to hush it up. ‘I suspect Trump’s been dead for two days at least Probably shot himself when Murdoch dumped him.’ Cleese’s comment, which quickly led to his name trending on Twitter, appears to reference Fox News’ election report, and the claims that the President ‘screamed down the phone’ at its head, Rupert Murdoch, after it was the first outlet to project that Biden had won the state of Arizona. One follower responded: ‘I love your stuff sir, but I think this went a step too far. That’s worth a giggle, surely.’ He went on to agree with a fan who said that United States Attorney General Bill Barr hasn’t made a recent public appearance, adding: ‘Or [Mike] Pence, Maybe Trump shot them first, for disloyalty’. Meanwhile, the actor also tweeted: ‘Trump’s whole life has been a pretence that he always wins, and NEVER, EVER LOSES. ‘That’s why he even cheats at golf ! He re-edits reality to protect his ego This life-long pattern will not change He will not concede.’ Cleese also predicted that Trump won’t concede if he loses to Biden (Picture: Getty) Cleese’s comments come as Biden declared ‘we’re going to win this race,’ as he stands just one state away from winning the presidency. The star has previously criticised ‘political correctness’, branding it ‘stifling’. Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme in September, he said: ‘PC stuff started out as a good idea, which is, “Let’s not be mean to people”, and I’m in favour of that, believe it or not, despite my age.
