But governors from many states refuted the president’s claim and said they still have spots open. Iowa offered this photo as proof it isn’t full yet. (Credit: defence.pk_ “We have a couple acres left in the San Andreas mountains for sure,” said Gov. Gavin Newsom of California. “We’d be happy to offer it to some immigrants.” Gov. Steve Sisolak spoke in similar terms about his state of Nevada. “We still have three or four square feet unoccupied in the Black Rock Desert. If someone would like to take those, they’re more than welcome.” None of the governors who spoke on the matter believed that their states were full, but some said they were nearing capacity. Tom Wolf said he was driving around his state just last week, “checking on availability, and there were plenty of campsites open near Lake Nockamixon. So I’m not sure what the president is talking about.” In Florida, where Ron DeSantis is eager to agree with the President Trump on almost anything, the newly elected Republican governor made a comment that went against the idea that his state is filled to capacity. “Mr. Trump is correct if he means that Miami is bursting at its seams, but the Everglades are not, as long as people don’t mind living next to alligators.” Even in crowded New Jersey, characterized as “almost full” by Gov.
