Kathy has reposted a controversial photo shoot (Picture: Rex – Getty) Kathy Griffin reposted a very controversial image of herself holding the bloody decapitated head of an effigy of Donald Trump in the aftermath of the US presidential election. The comedian previously deleted the shot from the gory 2017 photo shoot, after being investigated by Secret Service agents over the stunt. However, as Joe Biden gets closer to clinching a White House win, Griffin decided to repost the infamous picture on her 60th birthday. The My Life On The D-List star was praised by fans for retweeting the photo taken by Tyler Shields, which saw her holding up a blood-soaked decapitated head of a Trump effigy by the hair, on November 4, the day after the US election. Fans hoped that she wouldn’t delete the picture this time round, while others joked that she was in line for further questioning over the photo. However, Griffin didn’t seem bothered by potential backlash, as she shared anti-Trump tweets as she celebrated her 60th birthday on day two of the count. The Tyler Shields shoot surfaced in 2017 and was immediately hit by major backlash, with Trump tweeting: ‘Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!’ Griffin asked the photographer to remove the photo from social media and issued an apology, saying: ‘I’m just now seeing the reaction of these images. I’m a comic, I crossed the line. I moved the line and then I crossed it. I went way too far. ‘The image is too disturbing. I understand how it affects people. It wasn’t funny, I get it. I beg for your forgiveness.’ Biden is leading the race to the White House, but Trump is suggesting fraud (Picture: AP) The comic was fired from her job co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast with Anderson Cooper, with her former friend calling the shoot ‘disgusting and inappropriate’. Reflecting on the fall-out from the picture with Jimmy Kimmel last year, Griffin said: ‘I was on the no-fly list for two months, I was interrogated under oath … [Federal investigators] were considering very seriously charging me with the crime of conspiracy to assassinate the president of the United States. ‘I will say this, I am not anti-government at all after this experience. I think the FBI saved my life. I was not only on the MAGA bomber’s list, but…the FBI did something they call a ‘no-knock’ to my house, where it’s such an imminent threat, they don’t even call, they came right over. So it’s an ongoing thing, and it’s just part of my new normal.’ Griffin is, unsurprisingly, hoping for a Biden win, and it looks like it’s getting ever closer. Biden currently has 264 electoral college votes as opposed to Trump’s 214, and only needs to win Nevada to claim victory. However, Trump has suggested that the election is a ‘fraud on the American people’, and supporters have been showing up at count centres to protest the counting of votes.
