Because, 2020. After 24 years off air, the satirical puppet show is making its return to BritBox, and with it comes a host of new puppets, including Boris Johnson, Donald Trump and Kanye West. And in the first trailer for the new series, the Prime Minister and the US President are the main butts of the joke, as we see ‘Trump’ declaring that while the idea of a puppet TV show is the ‘very most moronic thing I’ve heard’, his puppet will be the best and he loves it. We then proceed to the United Nations, where Trump has lost his toupee and Kanye West, who has declared himself ruler of earth, is chucking Yeezys at the delegates. The world leaders later retire to the sauna where they tuck into buckets of fried chicken, with Trump saying: ‘I wouldn’t worry about some dumb TV show, Boris. Safe to say the show isn’t exactly PG. In anticipation for the show’s return, BritBox unveiled the puppets of politicians including Michael Gove and Priti Patel and royals including Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The 10 episode series will air on BritBox from October 3.
