It was captured on July 1 – only weeks before the 17-year-old shot dead two Black Lives Matter protesters and seriously injured a third amid riots in the city – and began circulating on Twitter this week. The clip, filmed by Reese Granville and CJ Wakefield who both identified the teenager depicted as Rittenhouse to the Journal Times, shows a number of males watching on as two girls begin to argue. Moments later, a third female wades into the row and begins fighting with one of the other two, before Rittenhouse allegedly joins in and appears to land at least four blows to the back of her head and abdomen while another male struggles to restrain him. A second video captured by one of those men shows another leaping out of a burgundy SUV to confront the teenager believed to be Rittenhouse. He can be heard warning: ‘Do not put your hands on a female [expletive].’ Four men approach him in all, including one who bundles him to the ground, before a number of them kick him as he tries to haul himself back to his feet and hobble away. The teenager, who can be seen wearing the same American Flag Crocs that Rittenhouse had on in a widely shared photo from his Facebook page, has not officially been identified as the youth involved by any law enforcement. Rittenhouse is charged with first-degree intentional homicide over the fatal shootings of two Black Lives Matter protesters in Kenosha last week. He is said to have shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, while part of an armed militia group claiming to have been seeking to protect businesses from looters. Having been chased from the scene he opened fire on 26-year-old Anthony Huber after the victim waved a skateboard at him. Anthony Gruber has been named as one of two people shot dead at Tuesday’s protests in Kenosha (Picture: GoFundMe) Gaige Grosskreutz, 26, was also wounded as he approached the teenager, with images showing him to have been holding a handgun at the time. Rittenhouse’s lawyers claim he was acting in self-defence throughout the incidents, with John Pierce praising the teenager’s bravery in the face of ‘relentless’ protesters trying to disarm and injure him. He added that he was also carrying a first aid kit to help treat injured demonstrators. Mr Pierce told Fox News: ‘The only individuals Kyle shot were the three individuals attacking him and putting him at risk. This is a 17-year-old kid, this is amazing what he did.’ Those remarks echoed comments made hours earlier by President Donald Trump, who suggested Rittenhouse ‘probably would have been killed’ in the melee had he not started shooting.
