The model is married to Joshua Kushner – the younger brother of Jared, who is married to Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka and works as a senior adviser to the President. And writer and actress Tavi was not about to stand for it when Kloss, 27, posted a print from activist Cleo Wade. The quote from Wade read: ‘The world will say to you: We need to end racism. Star by healing it in your own family. The world will say to you: How do we speak to bias and bigotry? Start by having the first conversation at your own kitchen table. ‘The world will say to you: There is too much hate. Devote yourself to love. Love yoursel so much that you can love others without barriers and judgement.’ Karlie wrote in her caption: ‘Thank you @cleowade for the reminder to live by these principles, we needed this today ❤️ Proceeds from these prints will go to The Antiracist Research & Policy Center: https://ift.tt/3gSa76D; Tavi was not standing for it (Picture: Instagram) But Tavi seemed to see some irony in the post, as she laid into Karlie in the comments section. The 24-year-old wrote: ‘Karlie, give it a rest. You have a lot of nerve to make a show of championing girls’ coding and your other causes while only politely disowning your family in public (lmao @ you ignoring Ivanka on social media; she still went to your wedding). ‘I can’t believe you’re not more embarrassed not just by them but YOUR decision to only publicly disown their politics in polite ways so you can have it both ways. I am ashamed that it takes this much for me to recognise how uninformed I’ve been. ‘I will never understand the full extent of the pain, suffering, fear and injustices we have wrought upon Black citizens. But I am not here to offer meaningless platitudes that carry no weight.’ Under her posts, many followers have questioned whether she is using her privilege of being connected to the White House by making a statement, or whether she has been having conversations with her in-laws. Earlier this year on an episode of Project Runway, contestant Tyler Neasloney went viral when he brought up the hosts in-laws before his elimination. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Kloss insisted that being Ivanka Trump’s sister-in-law didn’t change her politics. She said: ‘I’m sure I’m not the only person in this country who does not necessarily agree with their family on politics. I voted as a democrat in 2016 and I plan to do the same in 2020. ‘I’m very passionate about different issues, you know, women’s reproductive health.’ Metro.co.uk has contacted Kloss’s rep for comment.
