The president made the claim in front of thousands of his own supporters at a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he also referred to the virus as ‘kung flu’ in his latest bid to emphasise its origins in China. After boasting that America’s 25 million individuals tested far outstripped other countries, he said: ‘When you do testing to that extent, you’re going to find more people, you’re going to find more cases. So I said to my people: slow the testing down.’ ‘They test, and they test, we got tests that people don’t know what’s going on, we got tests – we got another one over here.’ He referred to testing as a ‘double-edged sword’ because of its effect on case numbers.
