Trump played You Can’t Always Get What You Want as he walked off stage at a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on 20 June 2020. Now, the band’s legal team is working with performing rights organisation BMI to stop him using any of their songs during future political campaigning. The Rolling Stones, who shot to fame in the 60s with hits like Shine a Light and Wild Horses, are comprised of Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and frontman Mick Jagger. A statement said: ‘The BMI have notified the Trump campaign on behalf of the Stones that the unauthorised use of their songs will constitute a breach of its licensing agreement. ‘If Donald Trump disregards the exclusion and persists then he would face a lawsuit for breaking the embargo and playing music that has not been licensed.’ Mick Jagger, one of rock’s most iconic figures (Picture: Michael Hickey/Getty Images) Sad face (Picture: AFP) News of the move was tweeted on the official Rolling Stones Twitter account. Queen have also taken issue with Trump’s use of their music in the past.
