The USA President ignored a sign which read ‘face mask required in this area’ as he toured the Honeywall International plant, to the tune of ‘Live and Let Die’ yesterday. Mr Trump was wearing glasses as he listened to staff tell him how they produce masks, but the contrast between him and three other men not wearing masks became clear when he later addressed a room full of people covering their faces. The President, whose country has by far the world’s highest death toll from Covid-19, was told how a mask catches particulates as he watched a worker with gloves, masks and goggles produce the supplies. He said: ‘That’s great. How many do you make a day?’ The worker in Phoenix, Arizona, answered that he made 400, to which Mr Trump said: ‘Really, well done, that’s a lot’, before flashing a thumbs up to cameras. A White House official reportedly said all officials were not required to wear masks, despite all employees on the floor doing so and the sign saying otherwise. No one else on Mr Trump’s tour of the assembly line wore a mask.
