Tommy Lee is trending after a letter to Donald Trump was attributed to him We don’t want to disappoint you all so early in the week, but we’re here to say that, unfortunately, that viral letter addressed to Donald Trump has not come from Tommy Lee. Sorry to let you down on a Monday. If lockdown wasn’t bad enough, right? Overnight the Mötley Crüe drummer started trending after he shared a letter addressed to ‘circus orangutan’ Donald Trump (the letter’s words – not ours). As everyone had a mighty giggle at the message, which slammed the US President and called out a range of controversies, it was assumed Tommy was behind such musings. Not mincing its words from the out, the letter begins: ‘Dear f**king lunatic. ‘At your recent press conference – more a word salad that had a stroke and fell down the stairs, you were CLEARLY so out of your depth you needed scuba gear. 🎤 pic.twitter.com/lmjgD8o8n9 — T🥁mmy L33 (@MrTommyLand) March 20, 2020 ‘Within minutes of going off air your minions were backpedalling faster than Cirque du Soleil acrobats.’ Some amazing descriptions there. The letter continued: ‘You attempted — with evident f**king glee — to get 24 million people thrown off their health insurance. ‘You gave billions away to corporations and the already wealthy while simultaneously telling struggling poor people that you were doing exactly the opposite.’ Tommy shared the letter last month (Picture: Getty Images for SiriusXM) It also included the rather expletive-ridden take-downs such as, ‘Do you know how f**king insane you sound, you off-brand butt plug?’ and ‘Ninety-nine percent of everything you say is either false, crazy, incoherent, just plain cruel, or a rancid paella of all four’, while also calling the Prez a ‘fried d*ck sandwich’. Sorry if you’re eating lunch. Even though, when Tommy shared the letter to his social media late last month, it was clearly attributed to a fella named Craig Alan Wilkins, many believed it to have come from the pen of the musician. Thus he began trending pretty quickly. Sarah Silverman revealed all (Picture: Twitter) However, even though Tommy is yet to comment on the palaver, comedian Sarah Silverman has set the record straight, revealing the real author of the letter. She tweeted, alongside Tommy’s OG message: ‘THIS IS F**KING BRILLIANT **NOT WRITTEN BY Tommy Lee but @AJPennyfarthing.’ More: Donald Trump White House coronavirus doctor, 79, gets 9 bodyguards after threats from Donald Trump fans Trump says UK’s response to coronavirus ‘would have been very catastrophic’ Donald Trump says people can wear scarves to protect themselves against coronavirus Pennyfarthing was loving the added dose of attention to the letter, as they welcomed new fans. They wrote online: ‘Yes, I’m the original author of the ‘Dear F Lunatic’ letter. Not Tommy Lee. I simply don’t measure up to Tommy Lee. ‘And here’s the book of the same name. Buy it, read it, enjoy the japery.’ Perhaps one day Tommy will share his political musings – today is not that day. Got a story?
