Shocking Inspector General Report Claims Simple Typo in Emergency Preparedness Manual Hobbled US Response to CoronavirusMissing letter ‘w’ enabled massive domestic outbreak April 6, 2020 (Washington) A new Inspector General’s report on the handling of the federal response to the coronavirus outbreak claims the effort has been “significantly hampered” by a simple typo. The report doesn’t identify who caused the typo in a key document meant to guide the nation’s response to pandemics. The document, the “2019 Pandemic Preparedness Guidelines” should have called for what experts label “a whole of government” approach. But due to a typo, it called for the less ideal “a-hole of government approach.” The report states the language led federal officials to believe the president should be in charge. “The only reason President Trump has been leading the response is because of the a-hole thing,” reads the report. “Had the document not contained the ‘a-hole’ language, the response would instead have been led by people who know what they’re doing.” White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said of the IG report, “Now the whole thing makes sense.” The corona document typo marks the second time the letter “w” has nearly led to the demise of the nation, the first time being the start of the Iraq war in March of 2003.
