Nope, Trump is still following Morgan (Picture: ITV/REX) Piers Morgan was quick to set the record straight after it was claimed US President Donald Trump unfollowed him on Twitter. Even though he’s been open in calling the politician out over his various decisions during the coronavirus pandemic in the US, Piers maintains a cushty relationship with the leader. One fan (or anti-fan, we should say) thought they’d put their trolling hat on this week and suggest the Good Morning Britain host had been social media-dumped by the prez. Replying to one follower who wrote: ‘Trump has unfollowed @piersmorgan love it,’ Piers was quick to borrow a saying from his mate and dismiss it as ‘fake news’. And, he’s not wrong. Seeing as Donald only follows 47 people it’s not a hard job to see Piers is still sitting pretty on that Following list. Fake news. 👇 https://t.co/wVPH713LOI — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 22, 2020 While Piers will be the first person to tell you that he’s close with the president, and still being followed by him, he’s also been the first to slam his claim his coronavirus briefings are a ‘ratings hit’. The pair have maintained a tight friendship (Picture: PA) The leader caused outrage on Twitter last month after using the opportunity amid the crisis to brag about the viewership of his Covid-19 updates, with the US at the time beginning to go into lockdown. Following his latest tweet storm, pal Piers had clearly had enough, and said: ‘You know what, Mr President? Please stop this nonsense. ‘I don’t want to hear that you’re a ratings hit, the reason you’re a ratings hit with your coronavirus briefings, is because people are terrified because of the death count and infection rates are going through the roof in your country.’ He then added: ‘Likening it to the viewership of the season finale of The Bachelor? Nobody cares, Mr President, if you’re rating well.’ ‘In fact I don’t want you rating well on this crisis, ‘ he added. ‘Because it means people are dying.’ Got a story?
