I want you to put your politics and preferences aside for just this moment. Do this for me and I’ll owe you a coke. We are, or were, the United States of America. We put men on the moon in the ’60s using rockets that were mostly made of duct tape. We invented microwave ovens, dental floss, traffic lights, cell phones, and video games. We’ve leveled entire cities and countries. — Do you REALLY think that this country with its amazingly vast resources and immense power couldn’t have achieved making a bunch of masks and ventilators over the past THREE MONTHS WE HAD TO PREPARE FOR THIS, along with, you know, actual, working, coronavirus test kits? That answer to that is -of course, we could have, silly! In saner times, we would already have a worst-case-scenario surplus by this point, and would have already sent our own kits and assistance to all the other coronavirus stricken countries months ago to help minimize the spread before it got here and also help the entire global market not collapse. Because, as you may have noticed, it’s “bad for business”. We knew the true scope of this pandemic by the first week of January. By February we could have had enough N95 masks in this country to flippantly use them as fun hats, toilet brushes, and makeshift bikinis, as opposed to our current situation where doctors and nurses are… dying to get them. We all know this. Oh, we were once a powerful nation run by adults. There would have been a sense of urgency. There would have been a planned “RESPONSE”. It would have been taken seriously. Nationwide. Not just governors fending for themselves and fighting over the same ventilators. Fox ‘News’ wouldn’t be the people solely in charge of dictating the nation’s entire non-response-until-it’s-too-late-response while also calling it “a hoax” (as Rupert Murdoch quarantines himself on his creepy island of monstrosities that offend GOD). Ron DeSantis, Florida’s REPUBLICAN (Surprise!) Governor wouldn’t have been able to promote spring-break and refuse to do anything except harm everyone. Oh, and has anyone looked into whether Ron DeSantis owns a chain of funeral homes, or recently bought stock in the bodybag industry? Call it a hunch… Ménage à trois image by author If there was a coordinated, SERIOUS, effort to save American lives from coronavirus from day one, the worst would already be over. If there was even a haphazard effort we’d AT LEAST have proper masks and gloves so we don’t lose every doctor and nurse and eventually have to perform our own heart surgeries and remove our own appendixes ourselves by watching youtube videos. As I sit here in New York which is now a ghost town and watch everyone around me start to get sick, Donald Trump has duly informed us of his television ratings, informed us of his Facebook numbers. No national response. No sense of urgency. YAY! For the past three months he’s mentioned cures that aren’t cures and blamed the media and Democrats for trying to scare everyone with actual alarming facts that form a reality not reimagined by him. What a hoot that Donald is… a real knee slapper. They’re estimating 100,000 to 250,000 American lives will be lost to COVID-19. Here’s how that happens. No early detection, no working tests, no ramp up, and no Global Pandemic Response Office because Trump got rid of it in 2018 despite being warned not to, as it would prove catastrophic. And it did. Then we had MONTHS of malicious and insane idiots like Sean Hannity, Ron DeSantis, and of course, Donald Trump, calling it “a flu”, and “a hoax”, while everyone infects everyone in beaches and malls. Dan Patrick, a REPUBLICAN (Surprise!) strongly suggested we sacrifice ourselves to COVID-19 to help Wall Street. No really. That’s what this maniac said. I’ll quote him directly from the book, “Famous Quotes from Terrifyingly Idiotic Monsters” or, his interview with Tucker Carlson (a guy who turned evil because no one stopped his parents from naming him Tucker). “No one reached out to me and said, ‘as a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren?’. “And if that’s the exchange, I’m all in.” — ®Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick / An imbecile. Now, I would love to sacrifice Dan Patrick as it would bring joy to me personally and save many lives in general. So, I’m reaching out to him as he requested. Please go and lick all the piles of COVID-19 corpses we’re storing in refrigerated trucks until you‘re dripping with coronavirus.
