Trump has extended his 30-day ban to include travel from the UK and Ireland (Picture: AP) Coronavirus crackdowns continue to spread, with the FCO (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) advising against all but essential travel to the US from today. It comes after Donald Trump – who recently tested negative for the virus – introduced a travel ban on the UK over the coronavirus pandemic. President Trump initially exempted Britain and Ireland from his 30-day ban on flights from Europe visiting the States, which took effect at midnight on Friday, but this was amended after Britain’s death toll doubled in 24 hours. In his first press conference detailing the ban on travel from Europe, Trump said: ‘After consulting with our top government health officials I have decided to take several strong but necessary actions to protect the health of all Americans. To stop new cases from entering our shores we will be suspending all travel from Europe to our shores for 30 days.’ Is it still safe to travel to America? Can I still travel to the US? The FCO has warned against all but essential travel to the US as a direct result of the implications of Trump’s ban. It’s not necessarily an indication of a higher chance of catching coronavirus, but finding yourself unable to carry out your travel as planned. {“@context”:“https:\/\/schema.org”,“@type”:“VideoObject”,“name”:“Metro.co.uk”,“duration”:“T44S”,“thumbnailUrl”:“https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2020\/03\/14\/16\/25971368-0-image-a-36_1584204177561.jpg”,“uploadDate”:“2020-03-14T16:42:43+0000”,“description”:“The US President added that his temperature was ‘totally normal’.”,“contentUrl”:“https:\/\/videos.metro.co.uk\/video\/backup\/2020\/03\/14\/4169068664296751010\/480x270_MP4_4169068664296751010.mp4”,“height”:270,“width”:480}
