Donald Trump defended himself against climate change activist Greta Thunberg at the World Economic Forum in Davos, telling the teen she should concentrate on dirtier countries (Pictures: AP) Donald Trump hit back at Greta Thunberg by bragging that his ‘numbers on air are tremendous’ and told the teenage campaigner to focus on dirtier countries. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday, the President of the United States implied Thunberg’s demands would make people’s lives unlivable. He said: ‘I think that some people put it at a level where it’s unrealistic to a point where you cant live your lives. ‘We want to have the cleanest water on Earth, we want the cleanest air on Earth. ‘Our numbers, as you saw, we had record numbers come out recently our numbers are very, very good. The president outraged Thunberg, 17, and other climate change activists by pulling the US out of the 2015 Paris Accord aimed at tackling the crisis after claiming it represented a bad deal for his country. He added: ‘Everything’s good but you have another continent where the fumes are rising at levels you wont believe.’ Trump also confirmed plans to extend the US’s travel ban on visitors from countries it deems unsafe (Picture: AP) ‘I think Greta ought to focus on those places but we are doing better right now than we’ve ever done in terms of cleanliness, in terms of numbers. ‘We have a beautiful ocean called the Pacific Ocean thousands of tonnes of garbage flows towards us. ‘It’s put there by other countries, I think Greta has to start working on those countries.’ Trump also used the press conference to confirm plans to extend his travel ban. It would crack down on travelers from countries he deems ‘unsafe’ from visiting the US, and previously focused on Muslim-majority countries including Iran and Somalia. The president refused to say which country or countries would be added to the list, with analysts naming Nigeria, Belarus, Eritrea, Sudan, Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan and Tanzania as likely additions. He said: ‘You see what’s going on in the world. Our country has to be safe.’
