Donald Trump has once again taken to Twitter to poke at Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn (Pictures: EPA/Getty) US President Donald Trump has taken a swipe at Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn over his attempt to seek a no-confidence vote against Boris Johnson. Trump took to Twitter to say it would be ‘very hard’ for the opposition leader to overthrow Johnson, who he said is ‘exactly what the UK is looking for’. The US president and Tory leader are known buddies, who met at the G7 summit in Biarritz, France last week for the first time since Johnson became prime minister. Just before the one-to-one working breakfast of scrambled eggs and veal sausages, Trump hailed Johnson as the ‘right man’ to deliver Brexit and promised a ‘very big trade deal’ between the UK and US. But the relationship between the Trump and Corbyn has been all but smooth, with the two unabashedly showing their resent for one another. The US President praised Johnson as ‘exactly what the UK is looking for’ (Picture:@realDonaldTrump) In the latest poke at Corbyn, Trump took to Twitter to say: ‘Would be very hard for Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of Britain’s Labour Party, to seek a no-confidence vote against New Prime Minister Boris Johnson, especially in light of the fact that Boris is exactly what the U.K. has been looking for, & will prove to be a great one! Love U.K.’ The tweet came after Corbyn penned an article in The Independent where he warned a no-deal Brexit would leave the UK ‘at the mercy of the US’. He accused Johnson of ‘cosying up to Trump because a no-deal Brexit is really a Trump-deal Brexit’. And it comes just after cross-party talks to stop the UK crashing out without a deal were held on Wednesday morning in Church House, Westminister. Trump has recently hailed the PM as the ‘right man’ to deliver Brexit while saying he was sceptical about his predecessor (Picture: Reuters) It comes after Corbyn said Johnson’s no-deal plans will put the UK at the ercy of the US’ (Picture: Getty) A total of 160 MPs from opposition parties including the Scottish National Party (SNP), Plaid Cymru, Green Party and Change UK signed the ‘Church House Declaration’, where they recognised ‘the urgency to act together’ to thwart a no-deal. They pledged to do so through ‘whatever mechanism possible’ and to pass legislation to stop the ‘catastrophic’ scenario if need be. While Corbyn was not able to attend due to a clash in his diary, he said he had sent a letter out to 116 Tory and opposition MPs, including former prime minister Theresa May, asking them to back their efforts to stop Johnson.
