Donald Trump has ramped up his rhetoric against four non-white congresswomen (Picture: Reuters) Donald Trump has suggested that one top US politician should be investigated for marrying her brother. The President of the United States continues with his racist rhetoric, attacking four Democratic congresswomen for their liberalism and what he painted as extreme views. After attacking them at a campaign rally in Greenville, North Carolina, yesterday the crowd responded ‘Send them Back, send them back.’ But his most controversial comments were aimed at congresswoman Ilhan Omar from Minnesota. Responding to a question from Fox News he said: ‘There’s a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother. I know nothing about it. I hear she was married to her brother. ‘You’re asking me a question about it. I don’t know, but I’m sure that somebody will be looking at that.’ {“@context”:“https:\/\/schema.org”,“@type”:“VideoObject”,“name”:“Metro.co.uk”,“duration”:“T21S”,“thumbnailUrl”:“https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2019\/07\/18\/06\/16195666-0-image-a-79_1563429416498.jpg”,“uploadDate”:“2019-07-18T06:54:44+0100”,“description”:“This is the moment Fox News asks President Trump about whether Rep. In 2016 she ran for a seat in the Minnesota House and bloggers started rumours that she was married to two men at the same time despite having no evidence. They also alleged that one of those men, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, was her brother. Omar has called them ‘disgusting lies .’ Trump began the week attacking Omar and fellow representatives Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. Trump accused the lawmakers, all non-white, of ‘helping to fuel the rise of a dangerous, militant hard-left.’ Trump’s rhetoric at the North Carolina rally echoed the language he used to win in 2016. Trump told reporters he thinks he’s ‘winning the political argument’ and ‘winning it by a lot.’ Speaking as he departed the White House for a rally in Greenville, North Carolina, Trump dug in on his attacks. Trump is showing no signs of backing down from his strategy of tying the Democratic Party to the four liberal lawmakers, even after a Democratic-led House voted to condemn his comments as racist. All four lawmakers are American citizens, and three of them were born in the United States. ‘I’m enjoying it because I have to get the word out to the American people,’ he said. ‘They’re absolutely wrong. That’s not where our country wants to be. We’re not going to go and we’re not going to be a socialist country.’ Omar arrived in the US from Somalia as a refugee after the country was torn apart by war (Picture: AFP) A protester is escorted out of the ‘keep America great again’ campaign in Greenville, North Carolina (Picture: Reuters)
