The arrival of the US President also saw protesters create a Trump baby blimp that floated around London during his time in the country. His second visit to the UK will be an official state visit, which will mean that the trip will be a bit different to before. What is a state visit? A state visit is when the head of state visits a foreign country at the invitation of its own head of state, which in this case is Queen Elizabeth II. It is usually an event that lasts several days and involves various public ceremonies and different parts of the country. The guest usually stays in the home of the head of state, which is usually Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle. After the initial greetings have been carried out, the first day will end with a banquet held at Buckingham Palace.
