That’s what the US President says anyway. Mr Trump claims he had ‘automatic chemistry’ with the royal earlier this week. Not everyone was keen on his arrival with many people protesting him but he swears the last person who would have been annoyed by his presence was the Queen. Mr Trump told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham: ‘The meeting with the Queen was incredible, I think I can say I really got to know her because I sat with her many times and we had automatic chemistry, you will understand that feeling. ‘It’s a good feeling. But she’s a spectacular woman.’ Mr Trump and the Queen make a toast during the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace (Picture: PA) (left to right) US President Donald Trump, Queen Elizabeth II and Melania Trump, during a group photo ahead of the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace (Picture: PA) He added some people said they had never seen Her Majesty have a better time than when she was with him. Mr Trump added: ‘We had a period we were talking solid straight, I didn’t even know who the other people at the table were, never spoke to them. ‘We just had a great time together.’ Despite their apparent closeness the US leader made sure he did not get too familiar with the Queen. When asked if he fist-bumped her he replied: ‘I did not, but I had a great relationship, we had a really great time.’ Mr Trump enjoyed a ceremonial welcome and a grand state banquet at Buckingham Palace during his state visit in London this week. He was also sat next to the Queen at the D-Day commemorations at Southsea Common in Portsmouth on Wednesday.
