(Credit: www.businessinsider.com) President Donald Trump announced a new hacking deal with Russia on Thursday that will ensure that the 2020 election is mired in at least as much controversy as the 2016 contest. Without any apparent awareness that his Twitter announcement was both outrageous and grounds for impeachment, the president wrote, “We MUST prevent the next election from being decided by Americans.” This appeared to be an admission by Mr. Trump that he can’t win a popular vote in this country with his approval numbers as dismal as they are today. The new hacking contract, signed by the president and Vladimir Putin in a backdoor meeting while Mr. Trump was in Vietnam this week, allows Russia to create rampant confusion and chaos in the 2020 election “without any interference from U.S. intelligence agencies.” Mr. Trump has effectively discredited and disemboweled those intelligence arms of the government during his first two years in office. Asked for clarification about the new hacking agreement with Russia, one that seems to go against all tenets of free and fair elections in a democratic society, the White House issued this short statement: “The last presidential election went really well, so we see no reason not to follow the same procedures for the upcoming contest.” Democrats in Congress have added this latest Russia arrangement to a long list of 436 other investigations they’re conducting to uncover illegal activities by the Trump Administration. **** For more of Allan’s anti-Trump satire go here or here to see two popular past posts.
