Donald Trump’s disgraced ex-campaign chairman Paul Manafort has been sentenced to another to three-a-half years in jail for lying to the FBI, meaning he will spend a total of seven-and-a-half years in jail. Manafort, 69, got a 73 month sentence on Wednesday in Washington DC. That will partially-overlap a 47 month fraud sentence he was given for fraud last week, meaning the shamed aide will be almost 77 before he gets out of jail. Wednesday’s sentence is the longest yet handed out to anyone convicted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s. There have been five indictments to date. On Wednesday, Manafort entered the courtroom in a wheelchair before hearing his sentence, which he will serve (either during or after) his 47 month jail sentence, which he was given last week in Virginia for felony fraud convictions. The charges that Manafort was sentenced for on Wednesday stem from the same Ukrainian lobbying scheme that he faced trial for in Virginia, although his charges in Washington DC are for lying to the FBI under oath, while the Virginia charges were for money he received for his oversees lobbying campaign that he never declared. In August, Manafort pleaded guilty in Virginia of bank fraud and tax evasion in connection to the money he received for his work in Ukraine. Some have speculated that Trump may pardon Manafort, nullifying both sentences, although the president’s answers have differed. ‘I wouldn’t take it off the table,’ he said late last year. Most recently, Trump said ‘I don’t even discuss it.’
