(Credit: e.vnexpress.net) President Donald Trump apparently tried to get the pilots of Air Force One to remain on the tarmac in Hanoi after the summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un ended last week. According to a White House aide who was on the flight, but asked to remain anonymous for fear of losing her job, “The president was in the cockpit for hours begging the captain not to take off. He kept saying that everyone on board should just enjoy a vacation in Vietnam, ‘get some nice R&R here in Hanoi for a few weeks,’ but no one wanted to stay. Just him.” Trump tried to rally these Vietnamese children into singing all the verses of The Star-Bangled Banner, a ploy that was aimed at killing time on the ground. (Credit: www.breitbart.com) The Trump aide said she later heard the president tell Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that he was afraid he would be met by U.S. Marshals if he returned to Washington, “because of the Cohen stuff.” The testimony to Congress this past week by Michael Cohen, the president’s former personal attorney, was so damaging, many are speculating that it will result in Mr. Trump’s indictment, as well as arrests of his family members. Over the course of three hours on the ground at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, Mr. Trump tried many ploys, some pathetic, to persuade the Air Force One pilots to stay on the ground, said the aide. “The president even tried to convince them that he wanted to remain in Vietnam so he could complete his military service. They kind of laughed at that.” Mr. Trump famously dodged the draft during the Vietnam War in the 1960s by receiving deferments for a phony diagnosis of “bone spurs.” In a statement, the White House denied that the president wanted to remain in Hanoi. “Absolutely not.
