It may not come as a surprise to many, but Donald Trump has been declared officially obese following his latest medical exam. In fact, since his last medical, the US president has put on several pounds since his last physical. Yesterday the White house released results of Trump’s annual weigh-in, revealing his Body Mass Index to be 30.4 – People with an index rating above 30 are considered obese. However, Trump is considered to be ‘in very good health’, according to a letter sent to the president’s chief spokeswoman by Dr Conley, who expected him to ‘remain so for the duration of his Presidency, and beyond’. The physical showed Trump’s resting heart rate to be 70bpm, his blood pressure as 118/80 mmHG and cholesterol level at 196 md/dL. Eyebrows were raised after the president’s medical examination in January 2018 deemed him to be in ‘excellent’ health, with critics pointing out his love for fast food and aversion to exercise. The self-professed fast food fan resorted to ordering McDonald’s, Burger King, pizza and Wedny’s to the Clemson football players last month because all of the White House’s chefs had walked out during the US government shutdown over the president’s plans for a border wall with Mexico. The President, who bragged about serving over 1,000 ‘hamberders’ on Twitter said he was initially going to serve a salad prepared by First Lady Melania Trump but opted for fast food instead, saying: ‘I would think that’s their favourite food’. Trump, who paid for the array of junk food out of his own pocket, told guests: ‘I had a choice: do we have no food for you, because we have a shutdown, or do we give you some little quick salads that the first lady will make along with the second lady, they’ll make some salads.
