A schoolboy bullied for sharing the same surname as Donald Trump fell asleep during the President’s State of the Union address after receiving a personal invite from the man himself. Despite being no relation to the divisive politician, Joshua Trump, 11, was called an ‘idiot’ and branded ‘stupid’ by playground bullies for sharing the same last name. His parents, Megan Trump and Bobby Berto, decided to homeschool Joshua shortly after the taunts started in 2015, when the former reality TV star announced he was running for office. Joshua, from Wilmington in Delaware, was one of 13 people personally invited to the address by President Trump and wife Melania – but obviously wasn’t exactly enthralled by the President’s speech. Pictures show him slumped in his seat fast asleep next to the First Lady and another special guest, young cancer survivor Grace Eline. Other special guests included one of the survivors of a synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh and the family of a couple gunned down in Florida last month. President Trump’s second State of the Union address was postponed one week due to the partial government shutdown. He used the speech to call on his Democratic rivals to set aside ‘the politics of revenge, resistance and retribution’ and declared the time was right to ‘bridge old divisions, heal old wounds, build new coalitions’ and ‘unlock the extraordinary promise of America’s future’.
