Truth In SatireBiden, Clinton, and Sanders are all considering presidential runs guaranteed to keep Democrats out of the White House again in 2020No, not again. Please go away! (Credit: salon.com) Three dinosaurs of the American political landscape — Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders — are considering a run for the White House, all but assuring that the Democrats will lose the presidency once again in 2020. This tedious trio of fossils needs to make room for some fresh faces and new ideas in the Democratic party, but they are refusing to go away. Not only have they worn out their welcome, they’re really old: by the time the 2020 election rolls around Sanders will be 78, Joe Biden will be 77, and the youngster Hillary Clinton will be 72. “I may look old, but I’m feeling really good, very strong,” said former VP Biden, as his wife Jill wiped drool from his chin. “Most importantly, my mind is clear thanks to my daily, one-hour regimen of sodoku.” Sanders says he wants to run again because “my bitter, acerbic, curmudgeonly campaign style is exactly what the Democratic party needs to beat Donald Trump.” Mr. Sanders was apparent forgetting that it’s Mr. Trump’s bitter, acerbic, curmudgeonly style that people hate. Hillary Clinton is apparently considering another run for the White House because “three time’s the charm, or is it three strikes you’re out? In any case, I do believe 2020 is my year.” If the presidential ambitions of these three political artifacts aren’t enough to discourage a young generation of voters, perhaps the rumblings of former Vice President Al Gore (age 72 in 2020) or the expected bid of former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg (he’ll be 78 in two years) will be enough to convince progressives to start their own nation. In other news, former President Jimmy Carter (age 94) says he’ll try out for the 2020 Olympic fencing team. **** Thanks for your claps. Always appreciated.
