Piers Morgan raged against Donald Trump for an ill-judged tweet posted as deadly wild fires wiped out homes in huge swathes across California. After speaking to a woman still living in Malibu, where the devastating fires have destroyed homes and taken lives, Morgan’s Good Morning Britain co-host asked him for his thoughts on the president’s recent Twitter activity. On Saturday, as thousands fled their homes, Mr Trump tweeted: ‘There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Get Smart!’ Piers fumed: ‘Well A, he’s wrong about that. ‘They’re not forests, its not forest around Malibu, as anyone there knows. The so-called Camp fire that ravaged a swathe of Northern California was the deadliest. A total of 29 bodies have been found so far from that fire, Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea told a news briefing on Sunday evening. Nearly 230 people were still unaccounted for, he said.
