After he threatened to cut the subsidies of General Motors on Tuesday for slashing thousands of jobs and closing plants in the U.S., the company’s CEO Mary Barra promised to send him a Chevy Volt with “a little extra voltage.” GM CEO Barra sent Mr. Trump a Chevy Volt with an “electrifying surprise.” (Credit: giphy.com) The Chevy Volt is GM’s signature electric car but upping its voltage could prove to be dangerous to the president. “Oh, he’ll be alright,” assured Ms. Barra. “We just wanted to send him a message that the future of our company is in electric vehicles, not gas, and these plant closings will prepare us for the future, ultimately preserving American auto jobs. The president, as he is on most issues, is ill-informed.” The president did not seem to understand the tongue in cheek nature of Ms. Barra’s extravagant gift, tweeting, “After my VERY STRONG WORDS with GM’s Barra, she sees I’m not messing around. She is sending me a souped up Chevy Volt as an apology. VERY GRATEFUL!” Mr. Trump may not be so grateful when he flips the ignition switch on his new vehicle and receives the full force of its 300-volt capacity, sending his toupee flying. **** Thanks for your claps.
