BOO! A Monster, from MONSTERS INC. Ah, Halloween, that time of year we trust our neighbors not to poison the candy they give our children. FUN FACT: Us Jewish people have our own version of Halloween called “Purim”, which like all Jewish holidays celebrates us fleeing in terror from being set on fire, where some of us somehow escaped. The official holiday’s cause is to commemorate the defeat of Haman’s plot to brutally and savagely massacre all the Jewish people as recorded in “the book of Esther”. (#1 bestseller at Putnam Books and soon to be a movie). ISN’T THAT FUN?!? Yes, the whimsical holiday of Purim celebrates that Haman, a known grumble-puss who was VERY grouchy, was unable to kill every Jewish man, woman, child, baby, and any pets they may have had. We, as Jews, all disguise ourselves on that day just in case any of Haman’s descendants “start to get any funny ideas” about killing all of us, we’d be in disguise. That’s why the three most popular costumes on Purim are non-Jewish men, non-Jewish women, & a non-Jewish horse. While Purim happens in March, (to commemorate us “March-ing” away from those trying to murder all of us, a list that includes: everyone) October 31st is Halloween. Halloween started early this year — when Mike Pence (lead singer of the heavy metal rock band “Screaming Out Of The Closet — Featuring the dulcet tones of Mike Pence”) had a man dress up as a Rabbi to commemorate the massacre of Jewish people in Pittsburgh. ALSO, In lieu of “saying Kaddish” (mentioning the names of the murdered dead in prayer, as is the tradition), the man in his Rabbi costume — instead of praying for the victims, or mentioning them, PRAYED FOR MIKE PENCE AND REPUBLICANS. No, that really happened. No, really. No, it really did. So, there are rules to Halloween now, such as Megyn Kelly shouldn’t don black-face make-up and sing Al Jolson songs. Besides MINSTREL costumes being a “faux pas”, one also shouldn’t dress up like Jamal Khashoggi. This is because the Saudi prince (or, “The Artist Formerly Known As The Saudi Prince”) will have you strangled, murdered, and dismembered because if you’re someone who lives in America, he’s now allowed to do that you with zero consequences, as we have recently seen. Now, let’s have some Halloween-Fun with our favorite GOP All-Stars. Here’s Mitch McConnell dressed as Abe Lincoln. “Four score and seven years ago…” Here’s a picture of Trump, getting into the spirit of Halloween by dressing up like a cat. Meow. But you can still totally tell it’s him… Here’s a picture of Stephen Miller dressed up like a terrifying monster. AHHHHHH!!!!!! I know, isn’t that SPOOOOKY!?! Here’s Lindsey “Cracker” Graham all dressed up in this impressive costume as a brown-toothed weasel (weaselus brown-toothedness Mustelidae) who defends rapists. “Blah blah blah rapists are GOOD!” And here’s a picture of a guy dressed as a rapist judge. Supreme Rapist. Likes Beer! Here’s a picture of Florida Governor, Rick Scott (whose friends call him “Dick Snot”). Rick Scott CLEVERLY decided to dress up like a SPERM! A human sperm. His non-controversial costume was SO good, I DEFY YOU to tell which is which! One of these is Rick Scott. Can YOU tell which one? Here’s Paul Ryan, all dressed up as Eddie Munster.
