Umbrellas can be tricky. They’re too wide to fit through a door unless you fold them down, and sometimes when the weather is bad they blow inside out. So spare a thought for the president, who has just the same struggle as the rest of us when it comes to protecting himself from the rain. He was filmed walking up the stairs to Air Force One, then dumping his umbrella outside on the steps instead of taking it inside with him on his way to Indianapolis yesterday. Why? Nobody knows.
