A giant balloon of Sadiq Khan dressed in a yellow bikini has been flown over Parliament Square. The 29ft blimp could be seen hovering above the green in Westminster, in central London, this morning. The inflatable was put up by Donald Trump supporters who were angry the US President had been mocked with a similar float when he visited the UK in July. It cost more than £58,000 and was paid for through a crowdfunder. He admitted the balloon was put up in revenge. He said: ‘I think a certain amount of respect should be afforded to the leader of the free world and the greatest ally the UK has – the president of America,” he added. ‘Obviously a lot of people feel the same, that Sadiq Khan doesn’t represent them and doesn’t speak for them and obviously they all want to see Sadiq Khan on a giant blimp as well.’ Campaigners were also angry with the London Mayor over knife crime in the capital and wore t-shirts criticising him for this. The London Mayor told ITV London: ‘If people want to spend their Saturday looking at me in a yellow bikini they’re welcome to do so – I don’t really think yellow’s my colour though.’ The blimp flew over Parliament Square for two hours until 11:30am.
