Michael Moore has claimed that Trump only announced his campaign for the presidency after discovering that the Hollaback Girl was paid more for her role as coach on NBC’s The Voice than he was on the Celebrity Apprentice. Michael reckons he knows why Trump ran for the White House (Picture: Jim Spellman/WireImage) Both shows were on NBC, and Trump was so riled by Gwen having a fatter paycheque that he staged his campaign announcement at Trump Tower to prove he was more popular. Fahrenheit 9/11 director Moore told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘He’d been talking about running for president since 1988, but he didn’t really want to be president. There’s no penthouse in the White House. And he doesn’t want to live in a black city. ‘He was trying to pit NBC against another network, but it just went off the rails.’ So yeah, it wasn’t down to Vladimir Putin or James Comey – we can blame Gwen Stefani and The Voice.
